Scoring

A bag thrown in the hole is worth 3pts.

A bag thrown on the board is worth 1pts.

A bag thrown that rolls on the board or hits the floor before the board is worth 0pts.

To score a 1/2 round add up the total points for each team and take the difference between the two scores. That difference is awarded to the team with the most points for that 1/2 round.

For example: After 1/2 round or 8 bags played; Team Got Vodka has thrown 1 in in the hole and 3 out, the total is 3 points. Team Team No Money, Mo Beer has thrown 1 bag on the board (Bag in-Count) and three off the board, there total then is 1 point. You subtract team Team No Money, Mo Beer score from team Team Got Vodka score and the total score is Team Got Vodka 2 points.

You must reach 21 exactly. If you go over in points, you go back to 15 and play continues.  Remember, scoring is not done until the completion of a round.

Game Play

  • The object of the game is to score 21 pts.
  • Each game is played with 2 active teammates. The players who begin a game must finish the entire game. For example, if a team has 3 mates present, one will sit out.
  • The boards will be 25 feet apart from the front edge of the boards.
  • Start the first game with rock-paper-scissors. Winner decides who throws the first bag and which side of the board to stand on. The loser will be able to make the remaining decision.
  • The team who scored last will throw first during the next round. Including when your score goes over the 21-point limit.
  • Partners must begin the game kitty corner from each other.  After the completion of each game of a match, each player must rotate one spot clockwise for the next game.
  • Play will start at either board with all 8 bags. Each team will play with 4 bags of the same color throughout the match.
  • Opponents alternate throws until all 8 bags have been thrown.
  • After all 8 bags are thrown the round is scored. (See: Scoring)
  • The highest scoring team will then throw first.

Play is repeated until one team scores 21 pts at the conclusion of a round. (See: Scoring)

Winning the Game

The game shall be played until the first team reaches 21 pts at the completion of an inning.

The game can never end in the middle of an inning. Thus, if a team that throws first reaches 21 pts, the game can not end until the other side is allowed to throw all of their bags.
